Financial Incentives for New Homes
Incentives Calculator
PA Home Energy will be providing a modest financial incentive to the Pennsylvania residents whose electric service is provided by Allegheny Power. PA Home Energy offers a variable incentive to new homeowners whose homes meet the requirements of the ENERGY STAR Qualified New Homes program - plus some PA Home Energy requirements for health and safety.
The new home incentive is calculated using a formula that takes into account a combination of the RESNET HERS Index score for the house, as well as the size of the building with regards to the number of bedrooms.
To determine the incentive for your home, enter the number of bedrooms, the square footage of the building, and the HERS index score. Then press the 'Submit' button. Press 'Compare' if you would like to compare the incentive for one house design to another.

Financial Incentives for Existing Homes
Financial Incentives.
To help homeowners through this process, PA Home Energy will be providing a modest financial incentive to the Pennsylvania residents whose electric service is provided by Allegheny Power. We hope to expand these incentives statewide pending funding.
These financial incentives range from $200 to $1,000. The amount of the incentive is determined by the amount of energy saved during the home energy improvement. Your service provider will have computer software that will be used to determine the amount of the incentive after the home improvements are completed.

Keystone HELP
The Keystone Home Energy Loan Program (Keystone HELP) is a financing tool that Pennsylvania residents can use to finance their home energy improvements. The program supports the installation of ENERGY STAR labeled products such as heating and cooling systems, windows, doors, and insulation. Keystone HELP provides unsecured loans ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 with terms up to 10 years. Base funding for this program is provided by the Pennsylvania Treasury Department. Like PA Home Energy, the Keystone HELP was developed and piloted by the West Penn Power Sustainable Energy Fund prior to the statewide expansion of the program enabled by the investment of $20,000,000 from the PA Treasury Department in January 2006.
